Silver and glass ring with opalescent 'stone' is subtle and elegant or a little rustic and boho. A luminous opalescent glass stone is surrounded by silver.
The 'stone' is made of fused dichroic glass and resembles a moonstone or opal. Color and lustre vary depending on the light.
Made by me in my studio. I fused the glass stone in my kiln by cutting pieces of dichroic and clear glass, then stacking and firing them to fuse together. I set the stone in sterling silver by creating the bezel and surrounding it with beaded wire. That and the ring band was all made by hand using standard silversmithing techniques.
Stone and surround measures 11/16" wide and 13/16 long and is about 1/4" high.
Band is a split shank made from two 14 gauge wires.
The silver has been oxidized.
Ring size is an 8. It can be made slightly larger - to 8 1/4, 8 1/2 - if necessary. Make size choice when ordering.
