Silver ring with a deep, deep blue stone that has an inner world of blue and purple sparkles. A contemporary addition to anyone's collection.
The freeform rectangular glass cabochon sparkles from within because of the dichroic glass inner layer that reflects light.
It was made from a hand-cut stack of and opaque & dichroic glass covered with a clear layer and fired in my kiln.
The stone is surrounded and backed with sterling silver and soldered onto a 5/16" wide hammered sterling silver band. The stone extends about 1/4" above the ring and is approximately 11/16" long and 11/16" wide.
All the silver was hand-sawn, hammered, filed, soldered, etc. at Lyon Pond Studio.
Ring size is 8 1/4 at present but it could be sized up to 8 1/2 - 9 if needed.
